6 Tips for Getting Through the Difficult Days

When recovering from an eating disorder, some days are harder than than others but there are ways to cope. Keep a journal to read to remind you how far you’ve come. Keep connected with your support system of friends, family, and healthcare professionals. Do an activity – a small trip or just a stop at the library – any place to collect your thoughts. Volunteer, it’s rewarding and keeps you positive. Do what works for you when you’re feeling down, things that can cheer you up. Use your recovery tool kit from treatment – you have the tools to help just rely on them. It’s important to remember everyone has a bad day – try not to get too frustrated.
