When treating a patient with an eating disorder, sometimes you need to consider more intensive care, and considering residential treatment program maybe necessary. At this time, you need to consider the patient’s support system at home and the structure of their day to day lives. If situations are not ideal for recovery, consider residential treatment. In a residential treatment facility, a patient with a poor medical status will have constant medical monitoring, and people have found that there is more motivation in that environment for unmotivated patients.
