Oftentimes, we think that eating disorders affect only females. And while it is true that these disorders are most commonly experienced in females, males can also develop an eating disorder. It is time to break the myth that an eating disorders is something that only women experience, and learn more about how these disorders affect men. People need to understand this (individuals, family members, doctors, and society in general), because it very well may help a man who thinks that it is impossible to suffer from an eating disorder.
