Episode 102: Rosalind “Roz” Rodgers: Dance and Movement Therapy

Today, Kathy welcomes Rosalind “Roz” Rodgers, MA, R-DMT, GLCMA, and they discuss Roz’s experience as a dancer before and after movement therapy. Kathy and Roz discuss many of the issues dancers experience surrounding body image and eating disorders.

As Creative Arts Coordinator at Timberline Knolls, Roz is responsible for art, dance, and yoga programming and curriculum. This position also requires consulting with primary therapist on somatic interventions such as grounding, using the body as a resource, as well as effort (energy) modulation.

Roz started as a Dance/movement therapist at Timberline Knolls. Prior to that time, she was an artist in residence at the Dance Theater of Northern Illinois and took part in Global Girl Inc.

Roz received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University.
She gained advanced training in radio and television broadcasting from Illinois Center for Broadcasting. She also earned a Graduate Level Certificate in Movement Analysis from Columbia College.

Roz is a member of the American Dance Therapy Association.
