Today, Kathy is joined by Jennifer Moran, Psy.D., and they focus their discussion on engaging families in eating disorder recovery support, specifically using the collaborative care model. One of the features of this model is to create an environment at home that will maximize the success for recovery.
Dr. Jennifer Moran is a licensed clinical psychologist serving adolescents, adults and families in the outpatient department at The Center for Eating Disorders. Dr. Moran earned her doctorate from the University of Denver in 2003 and completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Suffolk University Counseling Center. Dr. Moran has dedicated her career to working within the field of eating disorders and has been a member of the CED staff since 2005. She operates within an integrative approach, with a special focus on cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies. Dr. Moran served as a family therapist in conjunction with The Center’s NIMH-funded research study on effective therapies for adolescents with Anorexia Nervosa and is certified as a Family Behavioral Therapist through the Training Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders. She also serves as The Center’s college liaison and is available to facilitate trainings, networking opportunities, groups and programs for college students, as well as offering trainings, referral assistance and consultation to area colleges and university counseling centers.
