Episode 110: Dr. Melissa Pereau & Nicole Goolsby: Orthorexia – When Healthy becomes Harmful Part 2

Today, Kathy continues her conversation with Dr. Melissa Pereau and Nicole Goolsby, LMFT, on orthorexia, when healthy becomes harmful. This part of their conversation focuses on case vignettes and looking at treatment and how it is applied and why. To listen to part 1, click here.

Dr. Melissa Pereau is a Board Certified Psychiatrist and the Medical Director of the Loma Linda Behavioral Medicine Center Eating Disorders Partial Hospital Program. She specializes in Women’s Mental Health, including Eating Disorders, Women’s Trauma, and management of mental illness during pregnancy and the postpartum period. She is an Associate Professor for the Loma Linda School of Medicine and plays a strong role in the education of  medical students and resident physicians.

Nicole Goolsby is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She holds a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Psychology and has over 7 years of experience working with teens, adults, and families in the mental health field. She has additional training and experience in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, depression, and PTSD.  She currently works as both the clinical therapist and treatment coordinator in both partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient Eating Disorder programs at Loma Linda University and has a private practice in Rancho Cucamonga. She provides warm, genuine, and holistic treatment and enjoys bringing her sense of humor into her work with clients and colleagues.
