Episode 210: Connie Sobczak: Tools of The Body Positive

Today, Kathy is joined by Connie Sobczak, and their conversation focuses on the tools of The Body Positive.

Connie Sobczak is the author of Embody: Learning to Love Your Unique Body (and quiet that critical voice!), her book in which she skillfully and lovingly reconnects readers to their precious bodies, life force, and beauty. Connie’s experience with an eating disorder in her teen years and the death of her sister Stephanie fueled her desire to create a new world for her daughter Carmen to grow up in; one where all people are free to love their bodies. In 1996, she and Elizabeth Scott, LCSW, CEDS-S, co-founded The Body Positive, a nonprofit organization that teaches people to listen to their bodies, learn, and thrive. As a result, countless people have been given tools to develop balanced, joyful self-care and a relationship with their bodies that is guided by love, forgiveness, and humor. Connie’s passion is watching the light that emerges when people recognize and embrace their magnificent, authentic selves.
