Episode 223: Dr. Irene Erckert: Minimizing Treatment Rejection

Today, Kathy welcomes Dr. Irene Erckert and their topic is minimizing treatment rejection for those with severe and enduring eating disorders.

 

Dr. Irene Marie Erckert is a licensed psychologist in in private practice in Pa and NJ and a certified eating disorders specialist. She has 28 years of experience in the treatment of eating disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Formerly, Dr.  Erckert was the assistant program director at the Medical Center of Princeton Eating Disorders Program and was  a therapist at the Renfrew Center outpatient program. In addition, she was a the lead therapist at The Rader Institute eating disorders program through Charter Fairmount Hospital.  Dr. Irene Erckert taught a course on eating disorders at Chestnut Hill College masters in counseling program from 1998-2000. For the last six years, Dr.  Irene Erckert has served in leadership positions of certification chair and now the continuing education chair for the greater Philadelphia IAEDP chapter. Due to her passion about collaboration with treatment team members, Dr. Erckert presents locally to agencies, school personnel and hospital staff on identification and the treatment of eating disorders. Recently she co-presented with Dr. Melinda Parisi  for the Great Philly Chapter of IAEDP on treatment strategies with clients who suffer from Severe and Enduring Eating Disorders. She will co-present again for the New jersey Psychological Association on this topic.
