Today, Kathy is joined by Dr. Andy McGarrahan and they discuss how to help children and adolescents transition back into school after eating disorder treatment. This is an extremely important topic for all professionals, as well as parents and loved ones of children who are receiving treatment for an eating disorder.
Andy McGarrahan, Ph.D., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at the Center for Pediatric Eating Disorders at Children’s Health, where he works with children and adolescents with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and avoidant and restrictive food intake disorder. Dr. McGarrahan just began his 18th year at Children’s Health, where he was recognized as Employee of the Year in 2017. In addition, he was given a 2017 Employee of the Year Special Recognition Award by the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council Foundation and received the Star of Hope award by The Elisa Project, a Dallas nonprofit whose mission is to provide education and resources about eating disorders to the community.
