Stop “Should”ing All Over Yourself: The field of self-compassion and implications for treatment of eating disorders

One of the biggest obstacles that those suffering from eating disorders have in the recovery process is to develop self compassion. They are very caught up in what they should or should not have done and blame themselves. Studies have shown that those patients that have more self compassion have less severe eating disorders and developing self compassion might be the target for prevention and treatment.
